Inspired by the story of the Beatles, Ladies and Gentlemen... The Band! is a GM-less Descended from the Queen game where players take on the role of a legendary band on the verge of breaking up. By drawing prompt cards, you will piece together a nonlinear story of the band’s beginnings, successes, struggles, and the family you’ve found within it.
To form a band, you will need:
- a group of 2-6 friends
- a means of listening to music together
- a deck of cards, physical or virtual
- (optional, but highly recommended) a means of writing and drawing together, physical or virtual
Form any type of musical group and build up its legacy with your friends. Be the frontperson, saxophonist, drummer, or even a roadie. Become a 6-person jazz group or a folk singer-songwriter duo. The Band! is also easily adapted to fictional settings, making it a fun way of playing out an alternate universe for characters from other games.

this looks incredible! do you think it’s possible to play on your own as a character building exercise, even if that’s not the original intention of the game?

As for solo play, I haven't tried it myself, but I'm sure it's possible. It would require you make a few supporting characters and I would suggest you roleplay a duo instead of a solo artist, but if you think the prompts fit the themes and ideas you'd like to explore, then I think it could be a fun experience! I'd be very curious to know how it goes for you, but regardless I hope you enjoy playing! <3

Haha thank you for mentioning that! I honestly should get into the lore of The Band and watch The Last Waltz.. For the record, the title was actually inspired by Ed Sullivan's introduction for the Beatles on his show in 1964, where he yells "... The Beatles!!!!" :)
